yes...

“Change your state of mind, not the sky”

a proclamation!

the proclaiming of simple loves. this blog was originally to be named "a diary of simple loves," but as a tossed in bed, my mind turned and played with ideas, seeming to be most awake just when the day was ready to sleep. what does it mean to proclaim something? and why did i decide that this word should be included in my title?
well... to start off, let's look at the definition.
proclamation |ˌpräkləˈmā sh ən|noun:a public or official announcement, esp. one dealing with a matter of great importanceor even better:• a clear declaration of something the proclamation of his passion

i have always had a romantic idea of "proclaiming." it is probably due to the fact that i was born into this world a hopeless romantic, and my first association with the word came from love stories in which handsome, passionate men proclaimed their undying love to the world. they knew how how they felt, and they didn't hesitate to let it be known.if you are to proclaim something, you say it, and you want people to hear. it is a matter of importance -- something you are passionate about. something that is so bursting from inside that it can no longer be contained, but instead must be let out to bask in the glory of the sun, of the world.

yes, it is all very dramatic, and at first my blog title may come off as some sort of inner dilemma. a proclamation of simple loves? as i was saying above, when you proclaim, it is something you want to shout to world, something that makes you want to grab the collar of the person listening and yell until you have proven your point. but why such passion for simple loves? why the effort? they make up everyday life and can easily be passed with a simple nod of recognition.my simple loves, though small, though sometimes insignificant to other, are the world to me. literally. they build me from the ground up, shaping and molding the person i have become. they tug at my heartstrings and tempt my soul. a good book, a great lover, an insightful conversation with a dear friend... these are the pure, real joys of life, the aspects that take you from moment to moment, from day to day. the loves that fill your life and give it meaning.
so why not proclaim them to the world!? as you proclaim those loves, you proclaim yourself as well.

yay!everyday

want some beautiful, simple loves to look at? go to http://yayeveryday.com/, and go there soon! they make you think, and make you let go and stop thinking too. here are a few to get you excited.

i am home...

it's true. i am home, not exactly for reasonings of my choice, but it is home all the same. the circumstances surrounding do not effect the love that is around. my home - my first simple love. i love the smell, the warmth, the familiarity. i love the meals, the blankets, the beds. and the most important, i just purely love my family.

where else could i go, while being 22, and have someone who will wait on me hand and foot when i cannot do so? i just had surgery to repair my ACL and meniscus (hurt while skiing), and while i am stuck on crutches for 6 weeks, my mom has become my personal, devoted nurse. man do i love her. i don't know what i would do without her.

my two adorable dogs at home that keep me company day and night

so all this time sitting around has given me time to catch up on some simple loves, like reading. right not it is east of eden. some quotes are to follow from that. i am a compulsive quoter, and i have this book where i write down anything i read or hear that inspires me. this may become another quote book for me!

but i have never blogged. so why not start now, when i have the time? i have a lot to learn about how this all works, but i am excited for this outlet to the world, this space for creativity and realness. for sharing my simple loves.
